St John's believes its priority is to provide a catholic education for the
children of the local community which will ensure that they realise their true potential in terms of academic, human and religious development |

The aims of the school are to:

Provide a broad and balanced curriculum which is appropriate to the needs of each
pupil at every stage of his/her development
Enhance the spiritual, moral, cultural, intellectual and physical development of the
pupils so that they will be responsible members of society
Prepare children for second level education
Help the children learn respect for themselves, for one another and for those of
other faiths and traditions
Develop in the children personal qualities of self confidence, independence, self
discipline and acceptable behaviour
Provide the children with a variety of experiences and opportunities to make the
most of their potential
Enable children to appreciate, to look after and to enjoy the very special
environment in which they live
Promote close links with the home and the wider community
Promote an ethos throughout the school which reflects the teaching and values of
